How often should we retest the app?
Test at least once a year, and again after any major change to login, roles, payments, data model or AI features. Apps built with AI change fast, often through large generated edits nobody reviews line by line, so the trigger-based tests matter more than the calendar. Run automated scanning continuously between tests.
Triggers for a new test
| Change | Retest? |
|---|---|
| New login method or auth provider | Yes |
| New role, team features or multi-tenancy | Yes |
| Payments or plan changes | Yes |
| New AI tool or data source for an agent | Yes |
| Large AI-generated refactor | Yes, focused |
| Copy and styling changes | No |
Between tests
Keep scanners and secret detection in your build, re-run the checklist before big releases, and keep a test for cross-user access in your automated suite.
Why AI-assisted teams test more often
A conventional team ships changes in reviewed increments. An AI-assisted team can regenerate a whole feature in an afternoon, and the new version may drop a check the old one had. The app that passed its test in March is not necessarily the app running in June. Three habits keep the gap small:
- Keep automated tests for every fixed finding, so a regenerated feature that reopens a hole fails the build.
- Tag releases that touched authentication, roles, payments, data access or AI tools, and treat those as triggers for a focused retest.
- Keep a short running list of changes since the last test. It becomes the next test's scope and keeps the cost down.
Focused retests of a changed area typically take one to three tester days, far less than the first full test.
Getting it checked
TrazTech offers vibe-coding QA and security review, listed from $2,000 CAD. Get at least one other quote on the same scope; the questions to ask a testing firm help compare them.

Is continuous testing worth it for a small app?
Continuous scanning, yes. Continuous human testing is usually more than a small app needs.
Do customers expect annual tests?
Business customers and auditors usually do.
